The BASC calendar competition is open to all members and offers you the chance to have your work proudly displayed as part of our 2026 wall calendar.
Let’s face it, we all use our phones a lot day-to-day; in fact, they are probably rarely out of reach.
We save our lives within that tiny box of brilliant technology. From favourite contacts, calendar appointments, little memos, recipes and, of course, photographs. You don’t need to be a professional to capture a stunning image (though a proper camera with a good lens doesn’t hurt).
That’s why we launched the BASC 2026 calendar photo competition. It’s open to everyone; whether you’re snapping away on an iPhone, Samsung, Canon or Nikon, you could see your image featured in next year’s calendar.
Grab a cuppa, or a cold drink, depending on the weather (it’s a bit of a roller-coaster right now), and start scrolling through those endless photos you’ve taken. A frosty morning on the hill? We want to see it. Your spaniel making a glorious water retrieve, bird in mouth? Yes, please. Captured a deer wandering close on a still stalking trip? That’s the stuff.
With 13 categories to choose from, there’s bound to be one (or more) that fits your photo perfectly. From wintery scenes and sporting celebrations to next-generation shooters, gundogs in summer and springtime conservation, there’s plenty to inspire you.
As these images will be printed, they need to meet certain specifications.
We prefer landscape shots, and all images must be at least 300dpi (around 3,000px on the long edge) or no less than 1MB.Â
And please only submit JPEG or PNG files.
Once you’ve submitted your entries, sit tight.Â
BASC’s chief executive Ian Bell will review eligible entries and select 13 winning photographs by 15 August, when winners will be contacted. We’ll also announce them on our website and social media channels.
Winners will receive a copy of the calendar (perfect for the kitchen or office wall), along with a BASC goodie bag filled with handy gadgets. Pair it with the feeling of pride, joy and the many opportunities for bragging rights during elevenses and shoot lunches, and you’ve got a prize money can’t buy.
So, don’t hang about. Grab your phone, camera or computer and find those timeless, special moments. And, if you’re not quite satisfied with what you already have… pack a good lunch and get out there.
We can’t wait to see what you’ve captured.
Now, review all 13 BASC 2026 calendar categories and submit your entries.
