The BASC 2026 calendar photo competition

We’re inviting members to showcase the beauty, heritage and work that takes place in the UK countryside in our BASC 2026 calendar photo competition. Whether it’s by sharing images of training gundogs, moorland landscapes, wild game or rural traditions, we want to see how you capture the spirit of the field.

The competition features 13 themes and offers a chance for BASC members to have their photographs featured in the 2026 BASC calendar. The winners will also receive a copy of the 2026 calendar and a BASC goodie bag.

The closing date for submissions is 31 July 2025. BASC’s chief executive Ian Bell will review all eligible entries and select 13 winning photographs, each representing one of the designated categories. Winners will be notified directly and announced on 15 August 2025 via BASC’s website and official channels.

The categories

The BASC 2026 calendar photo competition is open exclusively to current BASC members of all ages. All photographs submitted must be the original work of the entrant and must not have been previously published or entered into any other competitions. By entering, you confirm that you are the sole author and copyright holder of the photograph(s) and that you have obtained the necessary permissions for any individuals, or property featured in the photographs.

All entries must be submitted in high-resolution, landscape orientation, and suitable for print reproduction. Images should be a minimum of 300dpi and submitted in JPEG or PNG format. You may submit up to five images in total, within the same or different categories. Please email your entries to marketing@basc.org.uk with the subject line BASC 2026 Calendar Photo Competition. Be sure to include your full name, BASC membership number and the theme(s) each image is intended for.

The closing date for submissions is 31 July 2025. Any entries received after this date will not be considered. BASC chief executive Ian Bell will review all eligible entries and select 13 winning photographs, each representing one of the designated themes. Each of the 13 winners will receive a complimentary copy of the 2026 BASC calendar (in which their photograph will be featured), a BASC goodie bag and will have their photograph featured in a post on the BASC social channels. No cash alternative or substitute prize is available.

By submitting an image, you grant BASC the non-exclusive right to use your photograph in both print and digital formats. This includes use in the calendar itself, as well as promotion across BASC’s website, social media platforms, printed publications, email communications, and other marketing or promotional materials. Photographers will be credited wherever possible, but BASC cannot guarantee this in every instance.

Entries must not contain any content that is defamatory, obscene, illegal or otherwise inappropriate. BASC reserves the right to reject any entries deemed unsuitable or that do not meet the submission criteria.

The decision from Ian Bell is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome. Only the 13 selected winners will be contacted directly; unfortunately, we are unable to notify unsuccessful entrants individually.
