Women in Shooting Day proves a hit in Northern Ireland

After the all-important safety briefing, attendees tried a range of firearms, including air rifles, rimfire rifles, medium-calibre centrefire rifles and large-calibre centrefire rifles.

All shooting took place under close one-to-one supervision, giving each participant the support needed to safely develop their skills and confidence.

Prizes were awarded for the best performances of the day.

BASC Northern Ireland director Tommy Mayne said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many women to our Women in Shooting event at Sperrin Sporting Ranges and give them the opportunity to experience different types of shooting in a safe and controlled environment.

“Days like this allow people to learn at their own pace, ask questions and build their confidence with help from experienced instructors and safety staff. The standard of shooting was excellent and everyone contributed to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.”
