Applications opened today for the 2026 BASC Wildlife Fund David Gray Conservation Scholarship, opening new opportunities for students pursuing careers in conservation and land management.

The BASC Wildlife Fund David Gray Scholarship provides funding to individuals studying – or planning to study – conservation-related or land-based courses. It aims to remove financial barriers and help nurture the next generation of professionals dedicated to protecting and enhancing the countryside.

Open to UK citizens who are BASC members, or have an immediate family connection to the organisation, the scholarship offers awards of up to £4,500 per year. Funding can be used to support tuition fees, equipment, travel, and other essential course-related costs.

Named in memory of David Gray, a passionate advocate for conservation, the scholarship reflects BASC’s ongoing commitment to investing in people who will shape the future of wildlife management and sustainable land use.

Since launching its scholarship, BASC has contributed significant funding to help young people access education and develop careers in conservation, gamekeeping and land management.

Applications for the BASC Wildlife Fund David Gray Conservation Scholarship are now open. If you are interested in a career that supports biodiversity, habitat management and the sustainable future of the countryside, head to the scholarship page here to find out more and details of how to apply.
