I have been shooting in a variety of different forms since the age of 12 years. I have shot small bore rifle, full bore rifle, small bore and full bore pistol, and shotgun, both sporting and clays.
Without the ban following the Dunblane atrocity, I would still be shooting pistol, which was; and still would be my preferred activity.
I have been shooting shotgun for as long as any of the other disciplines, initially, doing pest control for a variety farmers, but that option disappeared, as pigeon shooting became increasingly sought after, and expensive.
During the season I work on a sporting estate as a loader/ safety cover, for the various guests who attend the estate, some of whom have shot very little, or never shot before. Which can be an interesting & challenging days work. Most of what I now do is clays, along with gallery rifle, both small bore and full bore; and more recently, practical shotgun
