George O'Connor
I have enjoyed game shooting since first using a .410 when I was about 8 years old, and a 20 bore from the age of 10. My father and grandfather inspired me, then myself and a friend started a clay shooting club at school and introduced school friends to the sport.
After joining the navy I represented Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, clay shooting, as captain of the team we won the triangular match against RMA Sandhurst and RAF Cornwall.
I have also helped introduce many people to clay and game shooting over the years, I continue to enjoy both and occasionally win local club trophies at home in Devon.
Living in North West Devon, close to the Cornish border, I have facilities at home for coaching novices. I also travel to other locations as and when required, providing shotgun coaching for individuals, small groups such as stag and hen days.
