BASC’s Best In The Field Clay Shoot returns to Sporting Targets in Bedfordshire this year, bringing you a clay competition with a difference.
Following a hugely successful inaugural event in 2023, BASC’s Best In The Field Clay Shoot takes place on 13 and 14 July at Sporting Targets near Riseley in Bedfordshire.
With the course being set by FITASC world champion and shooting coach, Ed Solomons, the competition will follow a game shooting layout. Targets will include pheasant, grouse, duck, pigeon and rabbit, with each stand simulating the real activity – be that in a grouse butt, seated in a pigeon hide or kneeling in a creek.
The event boasts a range of fantastic prizes and six entry categories, meaning this is an event for everyone.
Entry fee is £55 for BASC members and £65 for non-members. Included in the cost is 100 sporting targets, plus an optional 20 clays on BASC’s sustainable ammunition stand.
Entries are open now for the Best in the Field Clay Shoot, which includes both high gun and a team competitions which are open to all. There is also a a women-only section, parent and child team, plus prizes for best gamekeeper and under-21 competitor.
Terry Behan, BASC’s East of England regional director, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Sporting Targets for the Best in the Field Clay Shoot this July following such a successful first edition of the event in 2023.
“We’re all set for a fantastic weekend of shooting once again, with some changes planned from last year’s course to keep the competition fresh and exciting. We’re really grateful to Ed Solomons for his involvement again this year, not forgetting Sporting Targets for hosting us, and our other superb sponsors for their generous support of the event.”
