Elections to BASC Council and notice of Annual General Meeting 2020

Each candidate was invited to provide up to 500 words addressing how their personal qualities and experience would benefit BASC Council and their aspirations as council members. You can read them below by clicking on individual candidates.

Candidates for election to BASC Council

There are ten candidates standing for two national seats and one candidate standing for one Northern Ireland country seat.

Due to continued Covid-19 restrictions – and in line with many other organisations – BASC’s Council has decided that the Annual General Meeting on 11 July 2020 (10:30am) will be hosted online only.

Members wishing to attend are asked to register via BASC’s website at www.basc.org.uk/agm. You will need to provide your name, email address and BASC membership number. Members will need a computer, tablet, or smart phone to access the virtual AGM.

Change to constitution

At a council meeting of the Registered Society, duly convened and held at Marford Mill, Rossett, Wrexham LL12 0HL on 26 March 2020, the following resolution was duly passed by Council, to be put before the Annual General Meeting on the 11 July 2020 to be put to the vote in accordance with rule 7 of the Constitution and section 16 of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Act 2014.

Resolution

THAT the rules 5, (e), (ii) in the Registered Society Constitution is amended from:

“the Council may appoint Advisory Committees to operate for such periods and with such powers as the Council shall from time to time think fit. The members of the Advisory Committee shall include two members of Council, one of whom shall be appointed Chairman by the Council, additional members need not be members of the Council but shall be members of this Association”.

TO
