Wigtown Bay LNR
Permits available: Weekly permits covering Monday to Friday. There is a maximum of four weeks per visitor and no more than two weeks at any one time. Seasonal permits are also available if you live in the DG8/DG9 areas or are a member of one of the two local wildfowling clubs. Permits cost £25 per week, £15 for seasonal permits (local residents and club members).
Application details: Applications must be made at least seven days in advance of permit use. Applicants under 17 years must be accompanied by a permit holder over 21 years of age. Insurance cover of £5 million is required. Applicants must provide details of their BASC membership.
Additional information: Permits are issued on a first come, first served basis. Non-lead shot must be used when wildfowling on the foreshore in Scotland. No Sunday shooting. Completed bag returns must be submitted within 15 days of the permit’s expiry date.
