Since the 1960s the number of released gamebirds has increased while the number of shot gamebirds has increased at a lower rate, suggestion that shoot efficiency has decreased over the years.
BASC commissioned the University of Exeter to develop an interface so that shoot managers and gamekeepers can plan their shoot dates, bag sizes and release numbers to optimise profits and minimise financial and ecological risks.
A paper with the final results as well as an interactive interface will be published shortly.
