FAQs
BASC insurance is a first resort policy. This means that if you make a claim, our claims team will handle it directly regardless of any other insurance you may have. We may check with your other policies in the background, but this won’t delay your claim.
Many cheaper insurance products are policies of last resort, which only pay out if you can prove no other insurance is available.

Please have the following ready: date and location of the incident, details of any third parties involved, and a brief description of what happened.

If you are traveling abroad, the letter is also available in German, French, and Spanish.
The policies provide worldwide cover (excluding the USA and Canada) for up to 90 days for holidays if you live permanently in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.
Overseas members are only covered for BASC activities within the UK.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept membership applications from individuals who live in certain countries that are subject to international sanctions or restrictions. These include Afghanistan, Iran, Cuba, Belarus, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Venezuela and areas of Ukraine under Russian control.
