The Welsh Springer Spaniel Club was founded and registered with The Royal Kennel Club in 1923. We are the parent Club for the breed within the UK and keep close ties with many overseas Welsh Springer Spaniel Clubs. Our primary functions are to ensure the health and wellbeing of the breed and to promote the breed as a dual-purpose gundog. Amongst other events we schedule two working assessment tests each year, several working gundog training days and attend many game fairs, agricultural shows, and other country events to further promote the breed. As a small breed of vulnerable native breed status, we are focused on securing the future of the breed whilst maintaining it as a dual-purpose gundog.
