Deer stalking training funding programme

As part of their drive to recruit more young deer managers, The Forestry Commission has offered a grant, administered by BASC, to fund entry level deer stalking qualifications for aspiring deer stalkers between the ages of 17 and 30 living in England. BASC has been asked to lead on this exciting new project.

The programme means young stalkers have the chance to receive funding of up to £350 towards courses, including BASC’s groundbreaking DSC1 Online Theory as well as a range of other courses from across the industry. 

To apply for a funded deer stalking qualification, fill in your details in the below form before 16 August 2026. 

After this date, successful applicants will be drawn at random, and their details shared with their chosen training provider to receive the funding.

  • All applications must be completed and submitted by 16-8-26 at 23:59pm
  • All applicants must be resident in England at the time of applying
  • All applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 30
  • All successful applicants must complete their requested training course before April 2027
  • Complaints related to the content or delivery of the requested training are the responsibility of the training provider. BASC accepts no responsibility for negative experiences on non BASC delivered courses
  • Applicants may claim a maximum of £350 of funding for their selected course
