The draw

Buy the 2025 BASC Wildlife Fund stamp, badge or artwork, and you will be automatically entered into a draw for a day’s wildfowling with Wentloog Wildfowling and Conservation Association.

BASC Wildlife Fund stamps and badges, this year depicting ‘Pintail over Wentloog’ are available for £5 each, with limited edition artwork starting at £30. All merchandise sold helps fund wildlife and habitat projects linked to sustainable shooting. 

This year, supporting the BASC Wildlife Fund also gives you the chance to join Wentloog Wildfowling and Conservation Association (WWCA) members on the Wentloog marshes between Cardiff and Newport. The marshes are the setting for this year’s artwork and one of South Wales’s most distinctive wildfowling grounds.

Anyone who buys (or has already purchased) Pintail over Wentloog merchandise before 31 December 2025 will automatically be included in the draw. Each item purchased is worth one entry into the draw. You can read our full terms and conditions here.

You must be over 18 be a resident of England, Scotland or Wales to enter and hold a valid shotgun licence. You must also have your own shotgun available and bring sustainable ammunition with you (we can offer guidance on this if required).

Show your support and win

The draw is open to anyone who has bought, or buys, the 2025 stamp, badge or artwork ‘Pintail over Wentloog’ before 31 December 2025. Not only does your purchase give you the chance to enjoy a memorable day on the marsh, but it also backs vital wildlife and habitat projects funded by the BASC Wildlife Fund.

Pintail and sustainable shooting

The pintail is a priority species in BASC Sustainable Shooting Code of Practice

Members are reminded of the recommendation not to shoot more than two pintail per person per day. You can read more about the code and its principles on our website, here.

1. Eligibility

The draw is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 or over. This excludes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and BFPO addresses.
Employees, directors and their immediate families of BASC and members of the Wentloog Wildfowling and Conservation Association (WWCA) are not eligible to enter.

The winner must hold a valid shotgun certificate and be in a position to bring their own gun and suitable ammunition.

2. How to enter

Entry is automatic with the purchase of the 2025 BASC Wildlife Fund stamp, badge or artwork, Pintail over Wentloog.
Each item purchased before 31 December 2025 counts as one entry.
Entries received after this date will not be included in the draw

3. Prize

The prize is a wildfowling experience for one person with the WWCA marshes in South Wales.
The date and details of the experience will be agreed between the winner and the WWCA.
The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

4. The draw

The draw will take place in early January 2026.
The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
The result of the draw is final.

5. Winner notification

The winner will be contacted by email, telephone or post within two weeks of the draw.
If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within one month of notification, BASC may offer the prize to another entrant selected at random.

6. Publicity

BASC reserves the right to publish the winner’s name on BASC’s website, the BASC Wildlife Fund website, BASC social media channels, the BASC Live newsletter and in Shooting and Conservation magazine. The winner may also be asked to take part in further promotional activity relating to the draw.

7. Data protection

Personal data will be used only for administering this draw and will be handled in line with BASC’s privacy policy.

8. General

BASC reserves the right to amend or cancel the draw if necessary. Any changes will be announced on the BASC and BASC Wildlife Fund websites.
