Shotgun safety officers course
Aimed at equipping you with the knowledge, understanding, skills and awareness required to identify and manage issues pertaining to safety on a clay pigeon shoot.
Coaching lines
BASC coaching lines are a regular and extremely popular feature at game fairs and county shows around the country.
We offer both shotgun and airgun coaching and give you the chance to have-a-go and see how much fun it can be.
Shotgun coaching
These events see our expert team of shotgun coaches on hand to offer lessons for every level of shooter. Each lesson includes:
- Gun fit
- Eye dominance check
- Stance and style
- Shooting fault analysis
- Rectification
- Advice to novice and experienced participants
The cost is £20 for adults and £15 for 16 and under. BASC members will be entitled to a £5 discount on production of a valid membership card.
The BASC Shotgun Safe Shot Assessment is also an option at each show. The assessment provides a chance to demonstrate a confident and safe use of shotguns in a field-based situation. Safe Shot takes about 20 minutes and costs only £20.

Airgun Lines
On the airgun lines our instructors will be on hand to offer introductions to airgun shooting for novices and allow more experienced shots to try a BSA air rifle.
Each session includes:
- Basic safety instruction
- Rifle handling
- Basic shooting position
- Instruction and fault finding
- Technique
- 10 shots
This experience costs £3 for 10 shots, be aware height restrictions are in place.

Zookeeper firearms course
This course is offered as a bespoke service to zoos and safari parks, which can be tailored to meet specific needs.
Sporting rifle course – small game and lampingÂ
This course includes detailed theory of rifle shooting in the area and discipline involved, followed by time spent in the field simulating lamping situations.
