A group of enthusiastic shots kicked off the BASC Wales Women in Shooting 2025 programme with an exhilarating simulated game day set in stunning North Wales countryside.
Held at F&T Sporting, the BASC Women in Shooting day featured four varied drives against a dramatic backdrop of steep hills and sweeping views. Clays were tailored to suit all skill levels, with BASC-accredited shotgun coaches on hand to offer expert one-to-one guidance and technical pointers.
Despite a heavy rainstorm, the atmosphere remained upbeat, with plenty of laughter, camaraderie and impressive shooting.
The event began with a hearty Welsh breakfast, followed by two exciting drives. The group were well-fed throughout the day, with elevenses provided before returning to the field. Two more challenging drives followed, including fast and high targets that tested even the most experienced shots. The event concluded with dinner, allowing everyone to catch up and reflect on their day in the field.
The Women in Shooting programme is part of BASC’s ongoing commitment to making shooting sports more accessible, inclusive, and supportive for women of all backgrounds. By offering a welcoming environment, skills development, and a strong sense of community, we empower women to build confidence, forge new connections and embrace the opportunities shooting offers.
The event offered the opportunity for new and old friends to join up and embrace a day in field.
BASC Wales director Steve Griffiths said: “It was a wonderful day, marking the first of four exceptional women’s events scheduled in Wales this year. We’re looking forward to the next gathering already.”
F&T Sporting Owner Marc Potts said: “I would like to express my gratitude to BASC for choosing our venue to host the Women in Shooting simulated game day. It is truly inspiring to witness an increasing number of women engaging in a sport that I hold dear. Additionally, I extend my heartfelt thanks to my team for their efforts in ensuring the day proceeded seamlessly.”
