BASC’s gamekeeper conferences return at the end of March and will take place online this year, making it easier for working keepers across the north and south to access essential updates.
Gamekeepers are dealing with a range of practical and policy challenges that directly affect how shoots operate. Access to clear and applied information has never been more important.
This year, BASC is delivering its northern and southern gamekeeper conferences online for the first time. The new evening format allows keepers to log in from home, removing the need for travel while still providing the opportunity to hear directly from the BASC team working on these issues and take part in a live Q&A session.
BASC’s deputy director for shooting and operations, Terry Behan, said: “Gamekeepers are facing significant policy and regulatory change across firearms licensing, environmental regulation and animal welfare. These conferences are designed to give direct access to the latest information and the chance to put questions directly to the BASC experts leading this work.
“By holding the events online, we hope even more gamekeepers will be able to join us and benefit from that direct engagement.”
With major developments underway in a number of areas across the sector, the agenda will include:
The northern conference will take place on 31 March, followed by the southern event on 1 April. Both sessions begin at 7:00pm and conclude at 8:30pm.
These events are aimed at gamekeepers and will also be relevant to estate owners, land managers and anyone responsible for running a shoot, providing clarity and straightforward answers at a time of considerable change.
Register for each event by emailing us here to book your place. Please state within your email whether you wish to attend the northern event on 31 March or the southern event on 1 April, so we can allocate you a place accordingly.
If you cannot attend your regional event, we would encourage you to join the other session, as much of the content will be relevant to both audiences.
