BASC members and visitors were able to speak directly to the Hampshire Police firearms licensing team at the New Forest and Hampshire County Show, held from 28–30 July 2026 at New Park, Brockenhurst.
Representatives from the team joined BASC on its stand, answering questions and speaking to members of the shooting community about firearms licensing.
The joint presence gave visitors an opportunity to seek guidance from BASC and the police in one place. It also supported continued engagement between BASC and the firearms licensing team.
BASC South East regional officer David West said: “It was fantastic to connect our members directly with the firearms licensing team. Answering questions together showed what can be achieved through a positive working relationship between BASC and the police.
“We are grateful to Amanda, Jane and Emma for giving up their time to join us, and to Vicky for her help with the stand.”
BASC South East regional officer Reece Dunn said: “Firearms licensing has a direct impact on many of our members, so giving them the chance to speak to the team face to face was extremely worthwhile.
“The conversations on the stand allowed questions to be answered clearly and openly. We hope to build on the success of the show and create further opportunities for this kind of direct engagement.”
Hampshire Police and BASC will team up again at Hampshire Countryside Day on Sunday 13 September at the Bereleigh Estate, East Meon, near Petersfield.
Visit the stand to meet both teams and ask your firearms licensing questions.
