Call of the Marsh
On the saltmarshes of the Ribble Estuary in Lancashire, wildfowlers have spent generations caring for Britain’s precious coastal habitat. Call of the Marsh tells their story.
Made by The Origins Foundation in partnership with BASC and its founder, filmmaker Dr Robbie Kröger, the documentary was filmed in January 2026 with the support of Preston and District Wildfowlers Association and Lytham & District Wildfowlers Association. It captures the camaraderie and the largely voluntary work through which wildfowling clubs care for over half a million acres of UK wetland.
Winner of Best Documentary Short at the London Independent Film Awards, the film was screened in Parliament on 13 October 2026 and received its public premiere in Preston on 16 October. It is now touring the UK.
