BASC partners with Shooting Times to offer members free digital access

BASC has announced a new partnership that will give all members complimentary digital access to Shooting Times & Country Magazine.

From today, 29 April 2026, every BASC member – regardless of category – will be able to read the full digital edition of the Shooting Times & Country Magazine as part of their membership. The benefit, worth £74.95 per year, is available at no additional cost.

A new member benefit

The partnership adds one of the UK’s most established countryside publications to the BASC membership package. Founded in 1882, Shooting Times & Country is Britain’s only weekly shooting magazine, covering news, expert analysis, equipment reviews and features on shooting, conservation, gundogs and countryside life.

Members will have access to the complete editorial offering, including:

  • breaking news and updates on legislation
  • in-depth features and expert commentary
  • gun and equipment reviews
  • gundog, gamekeeping and seasonal content
  • cookery and conservation features

Flexible, easy access

The new digital platform has been designed for convenience and flexibility. Members can:

  • browse articles in a newsfeed format
  • read the full magazine in a page-turning layout
  • listen to articles using an audio function

Access is simple. Visit shootingtimesandcountry.com, enter your BASC membership number and start reading instantly.

The platform works across phones, tablets and desktops, with no app download or additional login required.

An exclusive partnership

The three-year agreement is exclusive to BASC, meaning the digital access model will not be available through any other membership organisation. As part of the partnership, Shooting Times becomes an official BASC partner publication while retaining full editorial independence.

BASC chief executive Ian Bell said: “I’m pleased to announce this new partnership, which will give BASC members free access to the digital edition of Shooting Times. It’s a strong addition to the overall value of BASC’s sector-leading membership package, giving members direct access to one of the UK’s leading shooting publications.”

Time Well Spent Group chief executive officer Simon K Barr said: “Publishing is changing, and our responsibility as custodians of Shooting Times & Country Magazine is to evolve with it. Readers want access to great journalism on their terms, when they want it, where they want it.

“Giving 150,000 BASC members free digital access complements the print product perfectly and ensures the title remains the essential, go-to source for shooting and countryside news and analysis for generations to come.”
