Whether you’re preparing for your first litter or wondering if your new pup is insured on a shoot, Sarah White, breeder manager at Agria Pet Insurance, is here to help.
Agria Pet Insurance is a provider of BASC’s working dog insurance and a leader in the field.
The BASC Breeder Club complements our insurance offering, providing a comprehensive support system and valuable resources for working dog breeders. It also allows you to activate five weeks’ free Agria insurance cover for your litter of puppies when they move on to their new homes.
To help you find out more about the BASC Breeder Club, Sarah shared answers to some of the common questions.
A: I’m so sorry to hear your puppy was so unwell – that must have been an incredibly tough time. Well done for taking steps to help prevent others going through the same thing.
By joining the BASC Breeder Club, you’ll gain access to a supportive network through the club’s exclusive Facebook group, where you can share experiences and get advice from other breeders. But the real benefit is peace of mind as each puppy will go to its new home with five weeks of free insurance already in place. We wish you and your dog a happy and healthy future.
A: If a new owner chooses to continue cover with Agria through the BASC Dog Lifetime policy, you’ll receive a £10 reward, paid directly to your bank account once the policy has been active for three months.

A: You’re absolutely right to check what’s covered, as certain activities can increase the risk of injury. Fortunately, the BASC dog lifetime policy is designed with working dogs in mind, so it will cover her on shoot days.
Please bear in mind that our insurance excludes cover for guarding, security or racing dogs.
Just one more thing to note: while your dog is covered for injuries sustained while working, third-party liability cover doesn’t extend to shoot days. However, shoot organisers will often have this insurance in place, so it’s worth checking with them in advance.
A: What an exciting life your dog has – it sounds like you’ll both be very busy!
The BASC working dog insurance does indeed include cover for agility classes and other recreational activities within the UK so you can go ahead and sign up to agility classes and get your dog show ready, too.
