Role information

Provide administrative support to the head of training and education and the training and education team.

Assist with the organisation of key events and act as the secretary for the clay shooting group and the airgun group.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  1. Provide effective administrative support for all training and education activities, including the updating of web-based systems.
  2. Act as first point of contact for departmental telephone and email communication, dealing with such enquiries as appropriate.
  3. Ensure that all administration processes within the department are efficient and kept up to date.
  4. Liaise on a regular basis with partner organisations, agencies, coaches, assessors, training providers and other external bodies.
  5. Update the training and education web pages and process online payments.
  6. Assist with the administration of all training courses.
  7. Input evaluation/feedback data from training events onto statistical databases.
  8. Attend shows and events to represent BASC as required.
ExperienceEssential skills, knowledge and achievements

GCSE A-C, Scottish Standard Grades, BTEC First Diploma. (NVQ-2)

Customer service qualification or training

Enthusiasm to undertake work-based training

Experience in an administrative support role

Experience of accurate use of Microsoft Office packages including Word and Outlook

Experience of providing a high standard of service to customers, ideally in a similar environment

Experience of talking to customers/members and understanding their requirements

Outstanding customer service skills

Excellent attention to detail

Professional and friendly approach

Able to work on own initiative to identify new opportunities

Time management, able to prioritise and achieve deadlines and plan effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions commensurate with position

Sound IT and administration skills

General requirements

BASC head office is based in Marford Mill, Rossett, north Wales, with country and regional offices across the UK.

We have an agile working approach, with our core hours being between 8.30 – 5.30 Monday – Friday.  We do expect some weekend and out-of-hours working to support our membership engagement. Your working hours are stated in your contract of employment.

You are expected to be flexible and agile and be willing to undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.

All our employees must always act as positive ambassadors for the association when dealing with members or representing the association in other ways.
