David has joined BASC after working in the Police Force for over 8 years.
David is a newly qualified BASC accredited shotgun coach and has been shooting for over 12 years. He is extremely passionate about clay pigeon shooting, game shooting and gundogs and is looking forwards to working in the Training and Education Department and introducing more newcomers into the sport.
His role will be to engage with Scouts, Guides and newcomers to the sport through existing initiatives, such as the Scouts Jamborees and the use of the ST-2 Simulator. He will be working closely with colleagues in the Training and Education Team, BASC Heads of Departments, Regional Teams, external providers and stakeholders to deliver these events, as well as keep the Codes of Practise up to date and relevant. The role will also support the delivery of the BASC Shotgun Coaching Programme.

With over 40 years shooting experience. Simon takes great pleasure from seeing individuals develop their shooting ability and is available at a private venue near Ipswich with fully automatic traps and all equipment provided, with tuition and guidance in the field if required.
From his early days as a competitive Clay Shooter (he was Secretary of, and represented a major London based Public Sector Organisation), David has been passionate about developing and supporting both Clay and Game shooters. His first major milestone was becoming a CPSA Instructor in 1992.
His game shooting experience ranges from picking up (his Flatcoated Retriever is somewhat challenging), member of Game Shooting Syndicates, photographing shoots (David is a qualified Professional Photographer) and “Coaching on Peg”.
Accredited as a BASC Shotgun Coach David can often be found coaching at events throughout the country.
David has a love for coaching people new to shooting. He is able to offer private tuition on an ad-hoc or regular basis at Shooting Schools in either Hertfordshire or Essex.
