Sheffield schoolchildren learn about shooting and conservation with BASC

A group of schoolchildren from Sheffield have been learning about airguns, gundogs and conservation with BASC this month.

BASC’s Alan Booth and Susan Bull visited Rivelin Primary School after-school club in Hillsborough to talk to 22 youngsters.

They had the opportunity to use the new Sharp Shooter automatic air gun target system from Promatic with coaching from Tony Galvin and the help of BASC’s Alan Booth.

Chris Hynch brought along his two Water Spaniels and his Cocker Spaniel, which he uses for picking up, so the children could ‘have a go’ retrieving a dummy with the dogs.

BASC’s Susan Bull said: “All the children thoroughly enjoyed their time with us especially when they got to try airgun shooting and picking up with the dogs. We’re very grateful to Promatic for lending us the Sharp Shooter automatic air gun target system which was easy for the children to use with help from Alan Booth and coaching from our volunteer Tony Gavin.”
