Aim
The aim of the course is to provide the knowledge and experience required for basic rifle shooting. It is ideal for beginners or novices to improve their shooting skills.
This is a one day course which will provide the less experienced rifle shot with a sturdy foundation of knowledge. There is no requirement for you to have a firearms certificate or your own rifle. Basic rifle safety, firearms law and different rifle types and calibres will be dealt with in a classroom before moving on to the range for the practical aspects, dealing with shooting positions and rifle technique. The course will offer you time on the range using both .22 rimfire and centrefire rifles. Rifles are available and ammunition will be provided. You may bring your own rifle but if you do you must also bring your current FAC and ammunition.

Should there be insufficient bookings, BASC reserve the right to cancel the course. In the interests of fairness BASC will aim to provide candidates notification of cancellation as soon as possible prior to the advertised start date.
We strongly recommend that fees for any accommodation you book are refundable as BASC will not be responsible for any losses incurred by candidates.
If for any reason you cancel your place on the course then the following scale of charges may apply:-
