Review your shoots on Green Shoots Mapping to boost shooting’s conservation credentials
Between Wednesday 23rd March and Sunday 15th May 2016 we are urging everyone who uses Green Shoots Mapping to log on and review the areas they have mapped.
The key task is to update (or even complete) the species and habitat listed against the shoot so that it is correct for the last 12 months. We are talking about species seen breeding in 2015 as well as species seen over the winter just gone.
How to do the review:
1) Log onto Green Shoots Mapping and click on the Map It button or Map It menu item from the top page
2) Scroll down that page to find the Your Shoots table and click on the Review button
3) Work through each of the five steps of the wizard updating the information then save it
4) Repeat for any other shoot you have!
When you have completed the review, we copy the shoot and information you provide into an archive. This means you are able to carry on updating your shoot particulars at any time you need to without affecting what you gave at the review.
Reviewing your shoots will allow us to compare how species and habitats are changing. Monitoring this change is of high importance to nature conservation planning and action. Therefore doing the review will help inform conservation policy and practice while at the same time promoting the very real conservation value of shooting sports.
Finally, each shoot reviewed on Green Shoots Mapping automatically generates an entry in to our prize draw to win an excellent pair of Bauer 8 X 32 HD binoculars which were rated very highly in our recent review.
