Even considering our usual high standards, this month has surpassed all expectations in supporting BASC’s principle aims of increasing outreach, public education and ensuring the future of shooting is strengthened. So much so, several records have been broken and milestones reached to broaden shooting’s horizons further than ever before. It has certainly been a busy few weeks across our regional teams.
The shooting community has been left with no progression as government fail to ensure medical profession statutory duty in consultation launched by Home Office.
Assurances have been received from government that any challenge will be 'robustly defended'.
The Home Office has written to BASC to announce that the consultation on firearms licensing statutory guidance, including medical involvement, will be launched shortly.
Figures released today are "positive news for shooting".
New licences went live on Friday, 14 June 2019.
