More than 500 new memberships to the UK’s largest shooting organisation were processed at this year’s Game Fair at Ragley Hall, allowing new members to take advantage of complimentary entry.

Membership booths were posted at each of the four entrances to the Game Fair over the weekend to enable people to join BASC and receive complimentary entry.

The Game Fair is the annual gathering for people passionate about countryside pursuits and the great British countryside. It offers visitors the opportunity to try shooting, angling and tour the largest collection of fieldsports-related stands and businesses brought together in one place in the UK.

BASC chief executive Ian Bell said:

“A warm welcome to each and every one of our new members. They have made an excellent choice in joining an association which holds the values of sporting shooting and conservation close to its heart and the best interests of our members at its very core. It was fantastic to get to meet so many of our members and our new members at the Game Fair over the weekend.”

BASC chairman Peter Glenser QC said: “Welcome to the newest members of the BASC family. The greater the size of our organisation, the greater our voice is for promoting high standards in the field and for the protection and promotion of shooting sports where it counts.”

BASC had a huge presence at this year’s Game Fair. BASC’s stand in Gunmakers’ Row was co-located with The Game Fair cookery theatre (The Field Kitchen Theatre) and celebrated game as food and the full range of shooting and conservation activities.

BASC held gundog scurries which gave competitors a chance to win prizes on each day and BASC coaches were available for those wishing to shoot on the airgun range and The Subaru shooting line.
