BASC starts search for new Chief Executive

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has launched its search for a new Chief Executive to replace John Swift who retires in June 2013.

The recruitment will be overseen by the BASC Council which aims to make a final choice later in 2012.  Council has appointed a subcommittee of elected members to work with experienced executive recruitment consultants FWB Ltd.

It is hoped the successful candidate will join the BASC team in early 2013 to allow for a planned handover and will officially start in office at the annual general meeting in June 2013.

BASC Chairman Robert Irvine said: “The appointment of a new Chief Executive to build on the successes of BASC under the leadership of John Swift will be a key moment for the association. This post provides both a remarkable challenge and an opportunity to make an important contribution to the future of shooting.”

The closing date for applications is 18 May 2012 with the interview process expected to commence in June 2012.
