BASC South West region was established to represent the interests of the Association and its members across the six counties of the South West, along with the Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly. The South West is a very varied region, ranging from island groups to the wild moors, the coasts of Devon and Cornwall and on to the rich farmland and countryside of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The region offers a remarkably wide variety of shooting that reflects this diversity, and which makes a substantial contribution to the local economy and to the wellbeing of the countryside.
BASC South West aims to provide a public voice for shooting and conservation in the region and to promote and protect our sport. We defend the freedom of private firearms ownership, promote habitat and sustainable quarry population management and encourage access to shooting in South West England.
We work closely with a wide range of organisations and the regional media to make sure that the views and interests of shooters are heard.
The South West team consists of David Gervers (Regional Director), Julia Birchall-Mann (Regional Administrator), James Green (Regional Officer) and Sam Walker (Regional Officer South West). We aim to be the focal point for members in the region – so please do call or email us if there is anything you would like to talk about.
