Send some shooting-related joy this festive season with one of our Christmas cards or a BASC calendar.
Back by popular demand, the 2020 BASC Christmas card is a reprint. It features a lovely shooting image of a picker-up with four dogs in a snowy field.
The photograph was provided by Celine Peniston-Bird, who is a well-known countryside and fieldsports photographer.
BASC 2021 calendar
For decades, artist Simon Trinder has produced the images for the BASC calendar and for 2021, he has again worked his magic. Many of the cartoons he has created are based on his own experiences while out shooting.
Simon is very much an all-round sportsman and enjoys just about all aspects of shooting and working dogs. Although, it is probably fair to say that his first love is wildfowling.
Every year, Simon produces around 20 cartoons that he sends to us at BASC. A small team of us select the best 13 for the calendar and decide which months they will represent. It’s always a tough task as all the cartoons are brilliant. But, in the end it comes down to a majority vote.
Simon will be a familiar figure to those of you who have visited the BASC stand at events, as at many of them, he is there exhibiting work. This artwork goes well beyond the famous comical cartoons that we use in the calendar. As a well-accomplished watercolour artist, he paints in tapestries of colour and his hilarious cartoons are collectibles within the shooting community.
